My first time ...

Yesterday was almost perfect. During the morning I played some NCAA football, trying familiarize myself with other plays. Then, I grabbed some lunch, went to pick up Scott and the 2 of us headed off to the UNC v. William and Mary football game. We got in the gates fine with Scott using Dan's ID for the afternoon, and ran into Josh's friend Robin, who was working security, while we were trying to find Josh and Rocco. When we found them we saw that Josh and Rocco were decked out in W&M gear as that's their alma mater, but I was true blue. *cough* traitor *cough*. W&M let for THREE QUARTERS. THREE QUARTERS! Every time they scored I'd lean back and look at Josh and he would just look confused. I could tell he couldn't believe it either. During the game JJ called a couple of times ... post the wedding he went to and just before he headed to the baby shower ... and again, the irony of role reversals here was just a riot. Afterward Scott and I were heading back to my car when we ran into a girl who is in my program at UNC. At this point I realized 2 things 1) That JJ and I had been to an event at Josh's house last week and Robin had been there so she had seen me with JJ. However, yesterday I was with Scott. I think that the next time she sees Josh there's going to be a "I saw Angela with a different guy at the football game than when I saw her at your house ..." conversation. That's right, baby, I get around. Oops, did I say that out loud? ;-) And 2) the girl from the department has heard me mention my boyfriend and at some point JJ will probably end up accompanying me to a program event. If she got a good look at Scott she might also wonder, "Wait ... that was a different ... " Walking into the game Scott and I also talked about how it was my first live football game. As I referred to it, I was, until yesterday, a football virgin. Scott looked at me in complete bewilderment and said, "Why am *I* the one who's here with you?" After the game I came home, made some dinner and sat down to read for class and watch episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It was nice. This morning at 7:30 our pastor called me. It was 7:30! On the one week I've had off this month! But it was an honest mistake. Post church we all headed to the Loop for lunch and then JJ and I went and saw the movie Hero . Which, if you have been wondering whether you want to see it, let me put it this way. It's beautifully made, it's beautifully shot, the characters are wonderfully crafted ... but with all due recognition to my ancestry ... it's extremely Asian. If you liked Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon you'll enjoy Hero . If you didn't, then you probably won't. Tomorrow I get the day "off." By off what I really mean is "University is officially closed so I can park on campus." Although truthfully I don't have THAT many things to do at the department itself so I'll probably only be there 2 or 3 hours max. In the morning I think I'm going to get in the first hard workout I've had in awhile. I lifted and swam on Friday but the entire thing was maybe an hour and a half long. Scott's got these free passes to Meadowmont Wellness center so tomorrow morning he's going to hook me up with one of the. Lift, run, swim I think. Maybe I'll skimp on the run and just swim more than 1500 yards. We'll see. But if I'm going to use it as a guest pass I might as well get full value out of it, right? But the key is that I don't have to set an alarm in the morning. This is very very important. Right now I need to buy groceries. So I'm going to go do that.

Robin and I did indeed have the "that didn't look like JJ" conversation today! Also, glad to see you came over from the dark side of livejournal. Blogger is awesome.
